Dear Grace Church,

Where is your identity rooted? We all find our meaning and purpose as we walk in Christ Jesus. People place their trust in the wrong places. Our jobs, our appearance, our talents, or our wealth could never give us an identity. In Christ alone, our identity is felt. We find our place when we find ourselves in him.

Dear Grace Church,

We must wait on the Lord. Waiting is not inaction, rather when we are waiting on the Lord, we should walk in obedience. We can trust that He will carry us through the dark times as we walk in obedience. He will make our path level; He is our salvation and stronghold.

Dear Grace Church,

We have faith, but sometimes we struggle to have faith. When we struggle, we wonder why we struggle if we believe in Christ. The psalmist of Psalm 42 reminds us that even in the midst of our yearning and struggle that we are to wait on the Lord. We do not always feel like God is with us, but He is.

Sermon Series

This week I will preach from Psalm 27. The Lord is our strength. We are temptedto trust in our abilities or our agency. When difficult times occur

Dear Grace Church,

Betrayal cuts deeply. Betrayal happens because we trust, and it tempts us to grow cold towards others. Jesus is our rock and our salvation. We can trust that he always has our best interest in mind. God will take care of those who betray us. We can trust Him with that too. When we suffer a loss of trust, it is helpful to look to Christ.

This week we will cover Psalm 42. This is a Psalm of the sons of Korah. The Psalm asks one of the big ques

Dear Grace Church,

Our sin and rebellion create a heavy weight in life. We become strained and desperate in our separation from God. We are blessed when we acknowledge our sin before God, when we repent. We begin to experience the unfailing love of the Lord and restoration of relationship when we seek forgiveness from Him.

Sermon Series

This week I will cover Psalm 55. This psalm was requested by Angie Heath. Life can often be a battle. This psalm gives voice to our

Dear Grace Church,

The valleys are mountain tops. This is a quote from Lou Hamlin that reminds us that even in the depths of life, when God meets us, we are on the mountain. The Lord is our refuge and our strength. Anything good in us is from the Lord. He takes from places of just surviving to thriving.

This week I will preach on Psalm 32. This Psalm was recommended by Karen Vernon. The forgiveness and redemption of the Lord is complete. We can live in

Dear Grace Church,

Resurrection changed the world. It is the single greatest moment for humanity. Death was defeated for all who place their trust in Jesus Christ. Many of us might have grown cold in our faith, our prayer must be to ignite the passion once again. Jesus beat death and all of us were born into death. We have been born again into life.

This week I will get back to my series on the Book of Psalms, Liturgy for Life. I will cover Psalm 16. This Psalm

Dear Grace Church,

We need to recommit ourselves to passionately following Jesus. On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem and then entered the Temple. I cheer inwardly as Jesus drives out the apostasy happening in the Temple. However, in my heart, I must admit that there are things in mean that need to be cleared out as well. Let us allow the Holy Spirit to do the hard work of clearing out our lives from the things that would soil us.

Dear Grace Church,

God created the heavens and the earth with utter perfection. Creation declares the beauty and wonder of God’s nature. He ordered everything and nature obeys His commands. We also will do well when we obey God’s commands. We rebel and struggle. We get mad at God, and we do not like His rules, but His rules bring us in alignment with His will for us. We experience peace when submit to the rules He has created for us.

Dear Grace Church,

People will lie about you and your commitment to purity. We must trust in the Lord and understand that He will uphold us. We should care more about our posture before Him. He cares for us in our most vulnerable moments. Also, we should pray that our “enemies” would come to a place of peace before God.

Dear Grace Church,

The Lord is our protector. The world tries to tell us that we are no good and have no value, that we are not worthy of His salvation. This is a lie. Despite our sin or our struggles, God is still our protector. He still longs for our salvation. He provides for us.

Dear Grace Church,

Jesus is King, Messiah and Son. The fallen people of this world will rage against his rule and dominion. We want to rebel until we understand that His ways are the best. For some reason, we have difficult time trusting His ways. When we do, we should not be surprised when people resist us.

Dear Grace Church,

I delight on the Law of the Lord and on His law, I meditate day and night. We are challenged to focus in on the Royal Law of Christ: To love God and to love others. We would do well to meditate on how this Royal Law plays out in our lives. This way of living out our lives plants us deeply in God and allows us to produce fruit.

Dear Grace Church,

We are to endure as we see God’s plan working out in our lives. This can be challenging. Prayer and confession are necessary components of a life lived in the middle. We must not forget these powerful tools for the believer in Christ. They orient us back to Kingdom principles and values. We could use a time of honest confession.
